SOMALIA: Two young bodies seen in central town

Galka’yo (RBC) Reports from Galkayo town in central Somalia say that bodies of two young men were seen in the southern part of the town on Friday.

Residents in Galkayo’s southern village of Barahley gathered around the two bodies scattered in the centre of the town.

“We have seen two bodies of young men whom their ages were about 20s. they were scattered in Abdullahi Isse field.” unnamed resident told RBC Radio.

The resident said that one of the bodies was recognized as local trader.

The spokesman of Galmudug state of Somalia Ahmed Mohamed Basto blamed the killing of the two men of what he described “unkind elements” in the region.

Mr. Basto mentioned that Galmudug security agents were investigating the case and will soon catch the murderers.

The security of Galkayo town had been deteriorating in the past few days.  On Wednesday night unknown gunmen shot dead famous doctor in the town.

Earlier this week, former Somalia police commander, Abdi Hassan Awale [Abdi Qeybdid] escaped from suicide attack in his home in Galkayo killing four security guards.  The attack claimed by Al-Shabab group.
