SOMALIA: Gunmen assassinate famous court judge in Las’anod town, north of Somalia

Las’anod (RBC) Unidentified gunmen have on Saturday night killed the head of Somaliland’s regional court of Sool in the town of Las’anod, RBC Radio reports.
Eye witnesses and local police officers have confirmed the death of Ahmed Dhuun Kalah after two men armed with pistols have shot him dead and escaped soon from the crime scene. The shooting took place at a cafe where sports fans were watching a football match around 8:00pm (local time).
The reason of the assassination was unclear yet but Las’anod police commander told the local media that the police managed to arrest at least one suspected person who was caught in the night and is being questioned at the moment.
The body of Ahmed Dhuun Kalah is supposed to be buried on Sunday as relatives and friends called for urgent investigation on the case of killing.
The Las’anod, the regional capital the north Somalia region of Sool is disputed by Somaliland, Puntland and the newly established state of Khaatumo and the town has been scene of recent assassinations and explosions.
