Somali Diasporas welcome the newly elected parliament speaker
Nairobi (RBC) the Somali community in Kenya has welcomed the election of the new Somali parliament speaker and his deputies who were voted into office yesterday in Mogadishu.
On Tuesday Somalia’s parliament elected Prof. Mohamed Sheikh Osman Jawari as the new parliament speaker and his two deputies.
The Somali community in Kenya especially those living refugee camps welcomed and congratulated Prof. Jawari for his achievement as parliamentary speaker of the war-torn nation.
On the other hand, there is a great jubilation and pleasure in Eastleigh where many Somali residents live and welcomed the completion of much awaited election and the change in Somalia. And they described the mood as a new hope and chance for the Somalis in general..
Also, residents of semi-autonomous region of Puntland in central Somalia have also welcomed the election of the new speaker who promised to reform the parliament.
Meanwhile, United Nations, African union, America and UN especial envoy for Somalia have all welcomed and congratulated the newly elected speaker Prof. Mohamed Sheikh Osman Jawari.
