KISMANYO (RBC) Al-shabab militants have on Monday claimed that they have gunned down a Kenya helicopter that was flying over Biibi town of lower Jubba region.

A statement posted on Al-shabab’s twitter page on late Monday was mentioned that the group gunned down a helicopter flying over an unspecified location but instead said to have been flying near Biibi district of warring areas.

It is unclear the Al-shabab claim of gunning down the Kenyan belonged chopper as currently no Kenyan officials commented.

Currently there is a massive combat going on in Biibi and other surrounding areas between Al-shabab group and TFG forces together with Kenyan defense forces.

Reports we are getting from the residents in Biibi say that heavy clashes erupted in and around of Biibi and Harbole districts about 6:30am local time and that Kenyan war planes participated in the battle zone.

It is not know the exact number of casualties as both sides could not reach for comment.

Residents of both towns fled and escaped for their lives and there are massive evacuations of towns and districts near Biibi, Harboole and Birta Dheer where many residents fear they will be caught in the crossfire.
