Somalia: Al Shabab gunned down two clerics in Bardale
Mogadishu (RBC) Reports from Bardale town of Bai region of Somalia say that Al-shabab militias has on Tuesday night attacked a residential house of two Muslim clerics and shot dead the clerics in Bardale and abducted two others.
Local residents told RBC that the deceased clerics identified As Aden Moalim and Sheikh Mohamed Dhoble were earlier threatened and informed that they will be killed by the group but ignored for their calls.
Ethiopian troops and unit of transitional federal government forces who rule the town reached the scene and exchanged fire with the attackers although they escaped narrowly. One person was reported to have injured in the shoot out.
Mean while, residents confirmed that the group kidnapped two other business men on their way out and the reason behind their abduction and the whereabouts taken still remains unknown.
It is not the first time that Al-shabab commits such planned assassination on civilians and abducts others because earlier they killed several elders and aid groups’ staff in the region.
