Somalia: Military convoy hits landmine in Af-Goye district
Mogadishu (RBC) At least two soldiers were killed and 17 others were wounded including civilians after a land mine hit their truck in Af-Goye district about 30KM to the capital Mogadishu.
As the residents in the town confirmed to raxanreeb media Network the blast detonated at, near Af-goye bridge around 2:00pm local time on Thursday and the troops opened fires in response causing many civilian casualties.
Residents said, the targeted troops have made search operations after the blast detonated in Af-Goye town to find out the masterminds.
All the wounded people were taken to Madina Hospital in Mogadishu most of them civilian with serious injuries.
The security officials blamed Al-shabab that it behind for the attack although Al-shabab did not comment on the Attack.
Al-shabab previously claimed the responsibility of an attempted assassination on the new Somalia president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Wednesday at his accommodation hotel in Mogadishu.
Al-shabab spokesman sheikh Mohamud Rage threatened more attacks against Transitional federal government troops and African union forces in Somalia. As well as Goverment officials.
