Somalia: President Hassan sheikh Mohamud condemns the suicide bombs that left scores of lives in the capital

Mogadishu (RBC) the newly-elected Somalia president Hassan sheikh mohamud has strongly condemned the two suicide bombers that killed 14 people and wounded dozens of others including journalists in the capital Mogadishu

Speaking to the state-run radio on Thursday night, the president criticized and denounced the yesterday attacks and blamed Al-shabab that it behind for the attacks.

‘’we strongly condemn these attacks against we our people. It is a big sin according to our religion to kill innocent people for no reason. It is an offense against the rights of Somali people. Said the president Hassan sheikh Mohamud

The president condoled to the families of the victims saying that he is sincerely grieve for what has happened and deeply concerned about the lives of the innocent people being killed and hurt in the last night barbaric explosions in a restaurant in Mogadishu..

President vowed and promised that his government will carry operations to secure the capital and to avoid and curb such attacks to happen again adding that this cannot halt and stop the government plans and proposals.

Yesterday’s double suicide bombing in the capital was the second attack since the president was sworn in to the office just a week ago.

So far no group has officially claimed the responsibility of the attacks but Al-shabab spokesman Ali dheer told AFP that Al-shabab supporters carried out the attacks but not an order from Al-shabab.

Mean while, USA, UN, NUSO, and UN especial envoy for Somalia Dr. Mahiga have all condemned the attacks that left scores of civilian casualties and innocent journalists.
