Kismayo (RBC) Residents in a southern lower Jubba region of Somalia say planes have bombed bases belonging to al-Shabab militants.
Reports we are getting from the residents in districts of lower Jubba regions of southern Somalia say that unknown warplanes have bombed and shelled Birta dhere location and other surrounding areas.
It is very immediate to know the casualties as officials of transitional federal government and Al-shabab could not reach for comment.
it was unclear who the planes belonged to, despite Kenya confirmed previously that they carried out series air strikes against Al-shabab bases in southern Somalia since it sent its troops to Somalia last year in pursuit of Al-shabab.
TFG spokesman Mohamed Dahir farah who gave report to the media on Thursday said that the allied forces will continue battling with Al-shabab until Kismayo falls under TFG control.
Kismayo is the main Al-shabab stronghold and the only city they economically depend on.
