Somalia: Al-shabab appoints SH. Hassan Yakub as head of Gal-gadud region

Mogadishu (RBC) The former Al-shabab chancellor of Jubba regions sheikh Hassan Yakub Ali was transferred to Gal-gadud region of central Somalia by the group’s superiors.
Sheikh Hassan Yakub Ali was the head of Al-shabab in Jubba regions of southern Somalia but on Thursday he was appointed to be the commanding officer of Gal-Gadud region in the central Somalia as Al-shabab media reported.
Speaking to Al-shabab run local radios Sheikh Ali told that he was appointed as the head of Gal-Gadud regions and at the moment he is in the region.
Speaking at the same occasion, he urged the residents in region to defend the country from what he called the apostates of Christians who have come to invade the country.
He added that most of the residents in the region are satisfied with Al-shabab rule and that the Sharia law to be imposed the country.
Sheikh Hassan Yakub replaces sheikh Kaba-kutukade who was the head of Gal-Gadud region for Al-shabab.
The militants currently control few locations and towns countrywide comparing to last year as they used to control much territorial land in the central and southern parts of the country.
