Nairobi (RBC Radio) The Somali U-17 team that beat Sudan to progress to the second round of CAF U-17 Championship will not be taking any further part in the competition after CAF disqualified the team.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) said the Somalia FA did not respect the decision of CAF Executive Committee indicating that all the players participating in the U-17 Championship must undergo the age eligibility check by the MRI apparatus (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) as the Somalia players who participated in the match Sudan vs.

Somalia did not perform the MRI test.

Taking into consideration the internal situation of Somalia, CAF gave the FA an extended deadline up to October 4th, 2012. However, no MRI tests were received by that date prompting CAF to disqualify Somalia and pave way for Sudan to return to the competition.

Consequently, Sudan shall play against Algeria in the 2nd round with the first leg taking place on 19, 20, 21 October 2012 while the second leg shall take place on 2, 3, 4 November 2012.
