Somalia: Somalia President Hassan Sh. Mohamud meets Ugandan President
Nairobi (RBC) The newly-elected Somalia president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has met with his counterpart of Ugandan president Yoweri museveni in kampala city on Tuesday after he reached there on Monday to attend the country’s 50th anniversary ceremony of Independent day.
President Hassan sheikh mohamud met with his counterpart of Uganda and they both discussed about many issues including, strengthening the relationship between the two nations, beefing up the current security developments in the country and increasing the number of African union peace keeping forces.
A delegation led by the president of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohmud have reached on Monday to Uganda and it is the first out side trip since Somalia lawmakers elected him as country’s president on 10th September. he attended the country’s 50th anniversary day celebration and the security of the capital kampala was heavily tightened.
The president is set to meet with many high profile dignitaries and head of states during his visit in Uganda including Kenyan president Mwai Kibaki, Mohamed Morsi of Egypt, a delegation from Italy and several African head of states, to discuss the country’s transition process and African union peaces keeping mission in Somalia.
Uganda has about 17,000 troops in Somalia and it has the highest number of troops in African union peace keeping forces mission in Somalia.
