SOMALIA: cabinet launches a bill to limit illegal small arms trade in the country

Golaha-wasiiroRBC (Mogadishu) Somali capital has discussed on Thursday a bill that will reduce illicit arms selling in the country to cope up the deteriorating security conditions in the country’s capital, Mogadishu.


The cabinet has approved this bill which will curb the illegal small arms trade in the country and is expected to be brought before the parliament to be passed before it becomes a law.


Somalia was counted as among the safest shelters for illicit arms traders since the ouster of Somalia’s powerful government in late 90’s.


The government of Somalia nowadays seen to have toiled hard to respond to the increased insecurity signals in the capital after senior members of the government was raided in the city’s central streets by unknown gunmen, where the Islamist militants taken the credits.
