Somalia: UN aid Worker Held in Jowhar (RBC NEWS)

JOWHAR, (RBC Radio) Somali aid worker attached to a UN-Habitat project has been arrested in the middle Shabelle town of Jowhar, sources tell RBC Radio.
Eng. Abdulkadir Nur of Somali national was arrested from his office in Jowhar on Monday afternoon after when armed militia men loyal to Al Shabab came his UN office and told him to go with them.
“We saw armed men who went with him, we do not know any thing else still”, an eye witness told RBC Radio in a condition of anonymity.
Local resident in Jowhar told RBC Radio correspondent that Mr. Abdulkadir Nur was working UN-habitat funded project to build houses in the town.
Nearly 450 houses allocated to the internally displaced returnees have been built in Jowhar which UN-Habitat had funded.
UN-Habitat is one of few aid agencies operating in Jowhar where Al Shabab took control at the beginning of this year.
There are no reports from the Al Shabab administration in the area.
The UN-Habitat officials also did nor give any details about the arrest of Mr. Abdulkadir Nur.
