Somalia: Mogadishu University Completes the Final Exam for the First Semester of the Academic Year 2009/2010

Bossaso, (RBC Radio) The Mogadishu University in Puntland has started this week the final exam for the first semester of the academic year 2009/2010 in the various faculties and departments of the university.

The University has started its activities in Bossaso, the Puntland’s port city in September 2009, having been completed campus during the past academic year, and therefore moved the University from rented compass which it worked last year to the appropriate climate for higher education, which increased relieved students and raise their morale, as well as regularity of the study and the proper functioning of the educational process provided by the university for students in different disciplines.

As in the academic plan of the Mogadishu University’s annual tests as acts of a year and a final exam for students of all colleges and departments of each semester, in order to ensure continuity of assessment and the growth of student cognitive and behavioral, and encourage competition, including education, thus contributing to raising the effectiveness and efficiency in the academic performance of the University noted that students who ranked ‘first’ in their departments in the end of the academic year receive an annual scholarship award for excellence in practice.

On this occasion, the president of Mogadishu University His Excellency Dr. Ali Sheikh Ahmed congratulated to all students in the university in Bosasso and Mogadishu, where the main compass of the university locates for the completion of university curriculum as well as the first semester and the completion of the final exam, hoping to win an auspicious and prosperous future.

Dr. Ali also congratulated the university teachers and friends on the achievements of the goal of Mogadishu University – thank God – the achievements of gross and establishing the second compass of the university at Bossaso.

Established in 1997

 Mogadishu University which was opened in 1997, is still beyond for its all steps towards achieving the goals of the blessed, where this year received the third installment of the ten students, will emerge as the tenth installment of the graduates.

Mogadishu University is characterized by the quality of the performance of their academic, administrative and effectiveness in implementing their educational and practical, and therefore has found global recognition, winning the membership of unions and associations of universities; regionally and internationally, and correlated with more than 750 universities in the world, also occupies a position within the University of Mogadishu forty-first universities in Africa .

It is worth noting that the headquarter of Mogadishu University in the Puntland region of Somalia has been Launched in August 3, 2008 with three faculties: Sharia and Law, education, economics and administrative and science.

The university currently has two batches of students also witnessed the expansion of the headquarter in Bossaso horizontally and vertically, the opening of the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology and graduate programs — master’s and doctorate – in Sharia and Law, Education and Business Administration, in cooperation with the Omdurman Islamic University in the Republic of Sudan and the Open University of Malaysia, in addition to building the university city and provide all services and requirements of the scientific laboratories, universities, libraries, classrooms and halls of student activities and scientific meetings, concerts and other.
